The Girl in the Spider’s Web

The past never goes to Lisbeth Salander, an abused orphan, a virtuous hacker and a relentless revenge. Hired by Frans Balder, a computer scientist, to recover a program of his invention able to collapse national security and arm the world with a click, Lisbeth succeeds in the enterprise but becomes the target of the Spiders, a criminal organization that wants to put hands on the ‘file’ and kidnap August, son of Balder and key to access the program. Between explosions and pursuits, Lisbeth again crosses the path of Mikael Blomkvist, a Millennium investigative journalist, and that of Camilla, the sister who was believed dead and took over from her father and the head of the organization after her death.
A violent criminal, who has suffered the abuses of the parent for sixteen years, Camilla wants to refer back to Lisbeth, guilty of having abandoned her. But Lisbeth has a different version and a page to turn around.
Millennium fan, welcome back. After the original novel, a detective trilogy written by Stieg Larsson and published between 2005 and 2007, after the film adaptation of the first volume of the series directed by Niels Arden Oplev (Men who hate women), after the transpositions of the two books following at the hands of Daniel Alfredson (The Girl Who Played with Fire, The Queen of Paper Castles), after the broadcast of the television series designed by Chris Carter (Millennium) and after the remake signed by David Fincher (Millennium – Men who they hate women), it is up to Fede Álvarez to translate David Lagercrantz’s novel (“What does not kill”), legitimate (and legitimized) prosecutor of the Stieg Larsson saga.
Despite indigestion, there is at least one good reason to go to the cinema: unconditional loyalty to the brand. Brand successfully declined on the page and on the screen. In this sense (commercial), there is a real pleasure of the narration that combines the meeting, or the known, with the discovery of an unpredictable and often exciting intrigue. The fans of a writer have always felt a singular satisfaction in receiving, after a long silence, news of the beloved characters.
