Amber Appleton is an incurable optimist, even though her life is much less stable than it seems. A high school student with a great talent for music, Amber faces work, daily life and difficult family secrets with a smile on her face in the hopes of being admitted to Carnegie Mellon. Faced with new obstacles that threaten her dreams, Amber must learn to rely on the strength of the family she has chosen in order to move forward.
