How do you begin to describe the film that you unknowingly waited for throughout your entire life? Am I starting to tell you how incredibly funny “Booksmart”is? Or do I tell you that the First Feature Film Olivia Wilde created a truly intelligent, inclusive, modern and revolutionary film for today’s teenagers?
How about this: “Booksmart” is by far one of the most perfect age comedies I’ve ever seen.
Amy (Kaitlyn Dever) and Molly (Beanie Feldstein) are on a high school graduation day. Molly belatedly discovers that while she and Amy have exclusively focused their attention on homework, studying and obtaining a fake code only for the purpose of using a college library all night in high school, her party mates are also heading to Ivy League schools. Molly convinces Amy to go out with her for a night they’ll never forget.
