City government affects almost every aspect of life. Most of us are unaware of this, or take for granted such basic services as the police, firefighters, health care, veterans affairs department, senior assistance, park maintenance, licensing for various professional activities, registration of births, marriages and deaths along with hundreds of other activities that protect Boston residents and visitors. The film shows the commitment of the city government of Boston to be able to offer these services. The film also explains the various ways in which the administration engages with citizens. Mayor Walsh and councilors are portrayed addressing a range of political priorities, including racial justice, affordable housing, climate action, and homelessness. City Hall shows a city government that manages to offer a wide variety of services to a diverse population.
