The first English-language film directed by Joshua Marston in which Weisz plays Alice, an intriguing guest introduced to a dinner organized by Tom (Shannon) and his wife for his birthday celebration. Tom is increasingly certain to know Alice, though with a different name and past, and suspects that he is not there by pure coincidence. The evening turns into a meeting between a man who needs to make a change in his life and a woman who desperately wants to prevent this change.
