Two young lovers, Robert, a Catholic opera singer and Rachel, a virtuoso of the Jewish violin, dream of one day performing together with the legendary Carnegie Hall. When they are separated from the German invasion of Poland, Robert swears to find Rachel, regardless of what the war may bring. His research will lead him to the heart of Nazi Germany.
